If you love astrology then numerology is the next level of understanding your personal life. Proponents of this ancient science say that numbers reveal your inner nature, vibration and destiny.
The most popular form of numerology today was developed by Greek philosopher and mathematician Pythagoras (the triangle guy) more than 2,500 years ago, although there are other systems such as Chaldean and Kabbalah numerology. Pythagoras believed that everything in the physical world vibrated to its own number and that there was a divine order to the universe best articulated through numbers. Later, other systems developed that directly corroborated letters and words with numbers such as the Hebrew method of interpreting Hebrew words called Gematria and the Greek system of interpreting names using a process known as Isopsephy.
Many numerologists analyze a person’s birth date and add up the month, day and year to arrive at what is called their life path or destiny number. They then apply this information to a chart or diagram that often looks similar to an astrological chart in order to interpret the meaning of the numbers.
For example, people who have the life path number of 12 are characterized as being visionaries and givers that are often selfless in their approach to others. They have a strong creative spirit and an ability to see multiple possibilities in any situation. Their challenge can be to learn how to set boundaries and to take better care of themselves.
