Numerology – Is It For Real?

Numerlogy is a fascinating concept that, like astrology, purports to reveal occult wisdom about a person based on their numbers. Unlike astrology, though, numerology has the backing of the ancient mathematician Pythagoras and claims to be scientifically verified.

The core of a numerology reading involves analyzing your unique date of birth and reducing the digits to reach one single number (excluding 11 and 22, which are master numbers in their own right). This number is known as your Life Path Number, and it shows you what you are here to learn and what challenges you will face. It also exposes the tone of your experiences and explains why certain events occur past, present, and future.

For example, if you’re a 1 Life Path, you might feel lonely and seek the company of friends and family. Your number may also indicate that you’re a natural leader. While these traits are not inherently bad, they can be challenging to balance in the real world.

Unfortunately, numerology is pretty hard to test – which is a good indicator that it’s not actually scientific at all. Most of the statements that are made are essentially Barnum statements, and there is very little experimental evidence to support the claim that your personality type or destiny is directly associated with a specific number found in your birthdate, name, or other personal information.
